WEST SENECA, N.Y. (Aug. 30, 2025) — Members of Seneca Hose Company #1 spent recent days training and sharpening skills while also celebrating milestones within the department.

Crews gathered on several evenings to review riding assignments and practice company operations under low staffing conditions. Firefighters also conducted an auto extrication drill Friday night.

Among individual achievements, Firefighter K. Anderson completed the New York State aerial operator course and will continue in-house training on Ladder 6. Probationary Firefighter N. Merced and Lt. M. Schneider finished the state pump operator course and will undergo further training to qualify as engine operators.

In addition, Firefighter Z. Cruz completed probation and became a full member of the company.
