PEMBROKE, N.Y. (Aug. 22, 2025) — Millgrove firefighters assisted at a tour bus rollover on the New York State Thruway on Friday before responding to a series of serious crashes in Genesee County, including one that proved fatal.

Crews were first dispatched as mutual aid to Pembroke for the bus accident, where multiple people were reported trapped. Within 10 minutes of returning to the station, Millgrove units were sent to a motor vehicle crash at Genesee and Walden, where one person was killed. The intersection was closed for more than three hours as the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office investigated.

While that scene was active, another crash was reported at Wende and Walden Avenue. Later, firefighters also responded to a collision involving two motorcycles at Genesee and Zoeller Road.

Crittenden Fire Department assisted Millgrove at the incidents. Fire officials noted the busy day underscored the teamwork among local departments in handling multiple emergencies.
