Lancaster firefighters honored for service, dedication

FORESTVILLE, N.Y. (Aug. 1, 2025) — Three members of the Lancaster Fire Department were recognized Friday morning by the Southwestern Association of Volunteer Firemen for their contributions to the fire service.

Jordan Ferraro received the Junior Firefighter of the Year award for his enthusiasm and commitment. Bill Huff was named Fire Policeman of the Year for his dedication to safety, traffic control and scene security.

James Volpe was honored for more than 50 years of service to Lancaster and the volunteer fire service, recognized for his leadership, mentorship and community involvement.

Department officials said the awards highlight the dedication and volunteer spirit that keep their community safe.
