Middleton Lifts No-Burn Order
30 August, 2025- Middleton Fire & Rescue has announced that the town’s no-burn restriction has been lifted following recent rainfall. Residents are now permitted to burn Category 1 fires only, with a valid burn permit.
A Category 1 fire is defined as a small, controlled fire no larger than 2 feet by 2 feet, contained within a ring of fire-resistant material or a portable fireplace. Fires must be located at least 25 feet from any structures.
Under this permit, only clean, untreated wood or brush under 5 inches in diameter may be burned, in compliance with air quality regulations. Fires may be kindled at any time of day, regardless of weather conditions, provided all safety requirements are met.
Middleton Fire & Rescue reminds residents to remain cautious, as the ground is still not fully saturated.
“Thank you for continuing to practice fire safety,” the department said in its notice.
