On Sunday, 7 September 2025, Somersworth firefighters responded mutual aid to Milton for a third-alarm house fire. When crews arrived, they encountered heavy fire conditions, requiring an extended, multi-agency effort to bring the blaze under control.
To maintain coverage in Somersworth, off-duty members were recalled and staffed the city while on-duty crews assisted Milton firefighters. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by Milton fire officials.
