Plane flips at Fitchburg airport; pilot injured

FITCHBURG, Mass. (Aug. 23, 2025) — A small plane flipped onto its roof while attempting to land Saturday morning at Fitchburg Municipal Airport, fire officials said.
The pilot, the only person on board, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
The incident occurred around 10:18 a.m. when the aircraft encountered a shift from headwind to crosswind, according to officials.
The airport was temporarily closed following the crash.
