East Putnam Crews Respond to Tractor-Trailer Versus Car Crash

PUTNAM, CT — August 10, 2026 — At the intersection of Providence Pike (Route 44) and East Putnam Road on Monday morning, the East Putnam Fire Department responded to a collision involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger car.


The Connecticut State Police, Putnam EMS, and East Putnam firefighters were called to the reported collision at around 11 a.m.


When firefighters arrived, they discovered that the passenger car involved in the crash was within inches from a residential house. The house was unharmed despite the car being so near to it.


According to reports, nobody was hurt in the collision. Firefighters and other responding agencies handled the scene and confirmed that the nearby residence remained undamaged. No additional injuries or property damage were reported in the department's account.


The response involved fire, EMS and law enforcement resources working together at a busy roadway intersection.
