Auburn house fire spreads to attic, no injuries reported

AUBURN, Mass. (Aug. 18, 2025) — Firefighters battled a blaze Monday afternoon at a Rockland Road home, where flames spread into the attic and second floor and were fueled by a 100-gallon propane tank, officials said.
The Auburn 911 Communications Center began receiving calls around 4:40 p.m. for the fire at 79 Rockland Road. Car 1 struck a second alarm from Drury Square after a column of smoke was visible from Auburn Street.
Mutual aid was provided by Worcester, Charlton, Oxford, Sutton and Webster departments. Worcester EMS and Webster EMS also responded. Station coverage during the incident was handled by Millbury, Douglas and Leicester fire departments.
No injuries were reported.
