AUBURN, Mass. (Aug. 20, 2025) — A kitchen fire on the third floor of a Ridge Road apartment building set off the sprinkler system Wednesday morning and drew a second-alarm response, officials said.
The blaze was reported at 11:17 a.m. First-arriving crews encountered heavy smoke inside the unit, according to Auburn fire officials.
No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation by the Massachusetts Fire District 7 Fire Investigation Unit.
Oxford Fire & Emergency Services and Leicester Fire assisted at the scene, while Charlton Fire, Sutton Fire and Worcester EMS covered other calls in town.
