EVANS, N.Y. (Aug. 26, 2025) — Evans Center volunteer firefighters assisted the Lake View Fire District at a commercial fire Tuesday evening while also responding to calls in their own district, officials said.
The department was dispatched around 6:45 p.m. to serve as a Firefighter Assist and Search Team, providing safety support in case a firefighter became trapped or disoriented. After operations ended, crews helped repack attack and supply lines.
Meanwhile, other Evans Center members staffed an ambulance and light rescue for an EMS request in town. By 8 p.m., the crew returned to the station to conduct an after-action review of an earlier “car into creek” incident.
Later in the night, two pieces of apparatus were sent to an EMS call at the New York State Thruway service area. The department reported being back in service around midnight.
