Patient airlifted after medical emergency in Sturbridge

STURBRIDGE, Mass. (Sept. 3, 2025) — Sturbridge firefighters and paramedics called for a medical helicopter Wednesday evening after finding an unresponsive patient in a vehicle on Shattuck Road.
Ambulance 2 crews began advanced life support treatment and transported the patient to the Harrington Hospital helipad, where LifeFlight was waiting. Paramedics assisted in transferring the patient to the helicopter for critical care transport to UMass Memorial Medical Center.
The patient was listed in critical condition. No additional information was available.
