STURBRIDGE, Mass. (Aug. 31, 2025) — Call Firefighter Jay Monroe continued training Sunday on Engine 1 driver-operator qualifications with Sturbridge Fire.
The drill focused on flowing multiple hoselines from a hydrant water supply, including scenarios where crews operated on different floors of a building, requiring complex pressure calculations by the pump operator.
Monroe, who previously served in Holland where no hydrant system exists, is adapting to the challenges as part of his training regimen.
