STURBRIDGE, Mass. (Aug. 28, 2025) — Sturbridge firefighters conducted multiple training sessions Thursday, including driver-operator work and vehicle extrication drills.

Call Firefighter Tyler practiced drafting operations with Engine 1 at the Long Pond boat ramp as part of his operator training. He also logged road time and drove the engine to a brush fire on Interstate 84 westbound.

Later in the day, call firefighters joined Group 2 for extrication training at Steve’s Collision Center on Charlton Road. Crews reviewed Rescue 1’s tools and practiced gaining access to a simulated trapped patient.

During the training, Ambulance 1 responded to a minor motor vehicle accident on Route 20 across the street.
