STURBRIDGE, Mass. (Aug. 2, 2025) — Sturbridge firefighters welcomed members of the Boston Fire Pan-Mass Challenge team Friday night for what will be their final stay in town before the charity ride shifts to Worcester next year.
For years, Boston riders have bunked in the training room of the Sturbridge Public Safety Complex, where cots were prepared by local firefighters. The tradition also included a shared dinner the night before the ride.
“This was our final gathering with the PMC moving to Worcester in 2026,” Sturbridge firefighters said in a statement. “Please join us in applauding the fundraising efforts of this team over the years.”
On Saturday morning, Sturbridge Fire deployed Engine 1, Tower 1, Tanker 1 and Rescue 1 to see riders off at the start of the Pan-Mass Challenge, which raises money for cancer research and patient care.
