On Tuesday, 20 August 2025, the East Dover Volunteer Fire Department announced it had been awarded a $10,000 grant from State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC). The funding will help the department purchase a new cardiac monitor, a critical tool for emergency medical response.
East Dover Fire is aiming to buy a refurbished Zoll X Series monitor to replace its outdated and no-longer-functional Zoll E Series. The cost of refurbished monitors typically ranges between $6,000 and $20,000, making the grant a significant boost toward the purchase.
“This support helps us protect our community and keep our firefighters safe,” the department stated, while also encouraging community members to contribute to the effort through their new PayPal donation link at tinyurl.com/Donate-to-EDVFD.
