Thomaston firefighters keep tradition alive with ‘Flat Connor’

THOMASTON, Maine (Aug. 30, 2025) — Firefighters in Thomaston found a creative way to keep a former colleague present after his move to South Carolina.
FF/EMT Connor Calderwood left earlier this month to join the Mount Pleasant Fire Department, leaving his old crew missing him. Thanks to a cutout made by Adventure Advertising, “Flat Connor” has been appearing at department activities.
“While it’s not exactly the same, we’re glad to have him back around,” Thomaston fire officials said in a statement.
