OWLS HEAD, Maine (Aug. 2, 2025) — Fire crews in Owls Head answered two calls ahead of the annual airshow at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, officials said.
Late Friday, firefighters responded to a report of a low-flying aircraft with smoke visible, but determined after investigation there was no crash and no emergency.
On Saturday morning, crews were called to the museum for a reported strong odor of propane inside the building. Mutual aid was requested due to the size and nature of the facility, though the odor was later found not to be propane-related.
Officials noted Knox County agencies are managing multiple large-scale events this weekend and urged the public to stay safe and alert.
