Smoke forces brief evacuation of building in Sidney

SIDNEY, British Columbia (Aug. 24, 2025) — Firefighters evacuated a building Sunday afternoon after smoke was reported inside, officials said.
Sidney Fire Department crews responded to 2471 Sidney Avenue and briefly cleared the structure while they searched for the source of the smoke.
Mutual aid was provided by North Saanich Fire, Central Saanich Fire and Sidney RCMP.
