MILLINOCKET, Maine (Aug. 8, 2025) — Firefighters from Millinocket and East Millinocket attended a training session Friday focused on leadership and mental wellness in emergency services.

The program, led by Wally Fraser, Ph.D., of Fraser Clinical Consultation Services, addressed leadership’s role in retaining EMS providers, recognizing stress and burnout, and promoting supportive organizational cultures.

Officials said the training also offered practical strategies tailored for rural departments.

The session was funded through a Community Paramedicine Grant provided by Maine EMS. Millinocket is one of five services in Maine included in the five-year grant program.
