ELIOT, Maine (Aug. 17, 2025) — Eliot firefighters responded to multiple calls Sunday, balancing community events with emergencies that stretched through the afternoon.

The day began at 11 a.m. with participation in the York Village Fire Department’s annual parade and muster. At 1:30 p.m., crews were called to assist Somersworth with a brush fire.

By 3:45 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a motorcycle crash with injury on Goodwin Road. While returning from that scene, they were redirected to York Beach to provide forestry crews, trucks and equipment for a manpower-intensive woods fire.

Crews finally returned to the station around 7:30 p.m.
