East Kingston crews assist in Maine wildfire response

ELIOT, Maine (Aug. 23, 2025) — Firefighters from East Kingston joined crews from New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts in battling a large brush and woods fire in Eliot that had been burning for three days as of Saturday.
Officials praised the mutual aid system, noting the combined effort of departments working side by side.
Crews continued work Saturday after the wildfire began earlier in the week.
