Thursday, 4 September 2025 – The Town of Coventry Fire/EMS responded to multiple traffic-related incidents that caused lane closures in town.

At 2:00 p.m., units were dispatched to the 2500 block of Boston Turnpike (Route 44), between Brewster and Bread and Milk Road (Route 31), for a two-vehicle crash involving one driver who evaded. The roadway was reduced to one lane of traffic while crews managed the scene and arranged for vehicle removal.

Shortly after, at 2:05 p.m., Swamp Road was also reduced to a single lane after a vehicle struck a utility pole, snapping it. Eversource crews were called in to make repairs and restore the area to safe conditions.

Officials reminded motorists to use caution in both areas until all work was completed.
