BRENTWOOD, N.H. (Aug. 27, 2025) — Brentwood Fire & Rescue marked National Dog Day by honoring its Urban Search and Rescue canine, Pepe.
The department said Pepe is trained to deploy with Brentwood crews and Massachusetts Task Force 1 after disasters such as earthquakes or tornadoes, searching for survivors in rubble and damaged buildings.
Fire officials added that Pepe also provides comfort to first responders at the station after difficult calls.
