Two Cats Perish, One Rescued by Firefighters

Fall River, Ma. Around 7:30 pm. Firefighters responded to a still alarm at 332 Eastern Avenue, a residential over commercial multi-family home in the Flint section of the City.

Firefighters arrived on scene and reported smoke and flames showing from the second floor of the three and a half story dwelling. Command immediately called for an additional engine company to respond and to back fill empty stations. Firefighters quickly knocked down all visible fire and had the fire declared under control in fifteen minutes. Three cats were removed but only one survived. Command called for the Fire Investigation Unit to respond to determine origin and cause.
