Wednesday, 27 August 2025 – The West Weathersfield Volunteer Fire Department (WWVFD) provided mutual aid to the West Windsor Fire Department for a brush fire during the afternoon hours.
WWVFD responded with Brush 1, Engine 7, and off-road equipment, supported by a crew of 10 firefighters. The resources were deployed from the Ascutney Volunteer Fire Association station, where WWVFD was operating at the time.
Officials noted that mutual aid responses such as this demonstrate the strong cooperation among area departments, ensuring rapid and effective response to wildland fire incidents.
