Sunday, 31 August 2025 – The West Weathersfield Volunteer Fire Department (WWVFD) reported that Engine 7 and Forestry 1 responded to an outdoor fire along the Black River near Route 131 during the afternoon hours.
The incident marked the sixth call of the day, as firefighters continued to handle multiple emergencies from the afternoon into the evening.
Officials reminded residents that outdoor burning was prohibited, urging the community to exercise caution to prevent additional fire risks.
