On Monday, August 18th, during the early evening hours, Wilton Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on US Route 2 East involving two pickup trucks. The incident resulted in property damage only, with no reported injuries.

Chief Sonny Dunham responded quickly after receiving the call and confirmed that both drivers were out of their vehicles, walking around, and uninjured.

Wilton Engine One followed shortly after, staffed by Senior Captain George Guptil, Firefighter Andrew Cote, and Junior Firefighter Kameron Dunham. Firefighter/AEMT Ellie Adams also responded in her personal vehicle.

Crews worked to clear roadway debris while keeping one lane open to allow traffic to continue flowing smoothly. The scene was turned over to a Maine State Trooper, who remained on-site awaiting a wrecker.

Neither driver required transport. Assisting agencies included the Wilton Police Department and MaineHealth EMS.
