Thursday, 7 August 2025 – The Atwood Hose Fire Company responded with HT196 to provide mutual aid at a third-alarm structure fire on Hartford Pike (Route 101) in Windham County, Connecticut.

HT196 was assigned to oversee tanker fill operations, drafting from a pond on Bear Hill Road to maintain a continuous water supply for firefighting crews. The incident required a prolonged response, with tankers shuttling back and forth between the fill site and the fireground.

As of the latest update, the HT196 crew had filled 30 tankers, and operations were still ongoing.

Residents and motorists in the area were advised to use caution due to the heavy presence of emergency vehicles and water shuttle activity.

The incident underscored the value of mutual aid coordination and rural water supply operations, ensuring adequate resources were available to battle the blaze.
