Tuesday, 12 August 2025, at 2:19 a.m. – The Atwood Hose Fire Company was requested to provide mutual aid to the South Killingly Fire Department during a structure fire on Cook Hill Road.
Atwood’s HT196 and crew were assigned to the South Killingly Fire Station to support tanker filling operations, ensuring water supply for crews working at the fire scene. In rural areas without hydrants, these operations are vital to maintain continuous firefighting capability.
The Atwood Hose crew remained on duty for just over two hours and was released at 4:30 a.m. after supporting the tanker shuttle system.
Department officials emphasized the importance of mutual aid partnerships, noting that cooperation between departments ensures effective response during large-scale or extended incidents.
