Ashford Firefighters Train in Extrication

Saturday, 16 August 2025, at 11:00 a.m. – Members of the Ashford Volunteer Fire Department participated in a vehicle extrication training session designed to strengthen their emergency response skills.

During the training, firefighters practiced with a variety of rescue tools, including hydraulic and hand-operated equipment, while also learning and applying new extrication techniques. These exercises focused on safely removing victims from crashed or overturned vehicles, a critical skill for responding to serious motor vehicle accidents.

Department officials emphasized that regular hands-on training ensures members remain prepared for real-world emergencies, where quick and precise action can save lives.

The Ashford Volunteer Fire Department continues to invest time and resources into specialized training to provide the highest level of service and protection to the community.
