BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025) — Hundreds of children and families attended Truck Day at The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier on Saturday, where Binghamton firefighters showcased equipment and shared fire safety lessons.

Engine 1 was on display along with the Broome County Office of Emergency Services Fire Safety Trailer, giving kids a hands-on opportunity to explore fire apparatus and learn safety tips.

“We’re grateful to The Discovery Center for hosting such a great event and inviting us to be a part of it,” the Binghamton Fire Department said in a statement.
