CLINTON, Conn. (Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025) — Clinton firefighters capped off a busy week and holiday weekend with multiple emergencies, including a large fire at an organic recycling facility that required a multi-day response, officials said.
The Clinton Volunteer Fire Department reported that members also answered calls for a mutual aid house fire, several car accidents, a juvenile stuck in a swing, and a water rescue involving a person in distress.
The recycling facility fire was the most demanding, drawing mutual aid and requiring employees to work alongside firefighters for more than 36 hours with heavy machinery to help contain the flames and minimize damage.
Officials thanked mutual aid partners and facility staff for their role in stabilizing the incident.
