Bridgewater, Killington fire departments lead large-scale water supply drill

KILLINGTON, Vt. (Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025) — Eleven fire departments from across the region took part Tuesday night in a mutual aid water supply training organized by Killington Fire Rescue and the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, officials said.
The exercise, held at Mountain Lumber & Hardware (formerly Goodro Lumber) in Killington, focused on establishing water supply operations for large-scale fire events.
Departments participating included Pomfret Teago, Hartland, Bridgewater, Plymouth, Ludlow, Killington, Chittenden, Rutland Town, Pittsford, Proctor and Clarendon.
Fire officials thanked Mountain Lumber for hosting and noted the challenging heat during the drill.
