WHITMAN, MA - Around 4:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 6th, the Whitman Fire Department responded to a reported MVA on Washington Street, near the intersection of Washington Terrace. Companies arrived to find a single-vehicle MVA with a car into a pole.
Command reported that the occupant was trapped and that the jaws would be in-use. After a short extrication, the occupant was freed from the vehicle and placed in the care of EMS. The occupant ultimately refused transport. National Grid was requested to respond to the scene. Just prior to their arrival, the live wires caused a small fire in a tree above the scene. The roadway was closed until repair to the pole could be made.
