Marblehead, MA - The Marblehead Fire Department was dispatched just after 11:00 p.m. on August 6, 2026, to State Street Landing for a reported boating accident involving multiple injured occupants.

On arrival, crews found that the Salem Harbormaster's Office and Beverly Harbormaster were already on scene and had rescued two victims, who were transferred to Beauport Ambulance Service, Inc. for immediate care and transport.

Marblehead Fire Department personnel then deployed aboard a harbormaster vessel and responded to the accident location, where they found a vessel that had come completely out of the water and was resting on Grays Rock.

On August 6 in Marblehead, Essex County, additional coordinated water rescue operations were conducted, with firefighters entering the water alongside the Salem Harbormaster to locate and secure injured victims in difficult rocky terrain conditions.

Further patients were safely rescued, brought ashore, and transferred for medical care, while additional occupants with minor injuries were accounted for and transported by supporting agencies.

In total, six patients were transported to area hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to serious, following a well-coordinated multi-agency response under challenging nighttime conditions.
