Downed tree cuts power to sections of Ipswich

IPSWICH, Mass. (Monday, Aug. 25, 2025) — A large tree brought down power lines Monday in Ipswich, cutting electricity to several neighborhoods, officials said.
The incident occurred on Argilla Road, where the tree fell across the roadway and pinched live wires. Power was shut off along Argilla Road, Heartbreak Road, sections of Essex Road and the Candlewood area, according to the Ipswich Fire Department.
Ipswich Public Works and the Electric Light Department assisted fire crews at the scene.
No injuries were reported.
