At approximately 5:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to reports of smoke near the Bremen/Waldoboro town line. Crews arrived to find roughly half an acre of active woods and brush fire.

Thanks to the quick response and teamwork of our mutual aid partners—including Damariscotta Fire Dept./Massasoit Engine Company, Nobleboro Fire and Rescue, Newcastle Fire Company Inc., Bristol Fire and Rescue, and Waldoboro Fire Department—the fire was contained and extinguished.

Update (8/5): In total, the fire burned 1.1 acres.
