On Sunday night, August 11th, at 23:10 hours, Alna Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on West Alna Road. Ten firefighters responded with Trucks 1, 2, 3, and 4. Upon arrival, crews found a building fully involved, with flames spreading into the nearby woods.
Mutual aid was quickly requested, bringing support from Jefferson, Whitefield, Newcastle Fire Company Inc., and Wiscasset Fire Department. Firefighters worked through the night to bring the blaze under control, and Alna units were able to clear the scene by 03:00 hours.
No sooner had crews returned to the station when another call came in for a working structure fire in Wiscasset. Truck 3 was immediately sent for tanker support, ensuring Wiscasset firefighters had the water supply needed to continue their efforts.
