At 1:20 p.m. on August 26, the Alna Fire Department was called to support Whitefield Fire Department at a brush fire off Route 218. Five Alna firefighters responded with Trucks 3 and 4. The blaze was located close to a residence, where Whitefield’s crew was first on scene and quickly stretched a handline. Alna’s Truck 3 provided a second line while crews used a thermal imaging camera to locate and extinguish remaining hot spots. Alna firefighters returned to service at 2:30 p.m.
