Fire boat crew extinguishes lean-to blaze in Raquette Lake

RAQUETTE LAKE, N.Y. (Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025) — Firefighters in Raquette Lake used a fire boat Saturday to extinguish a blaze that broke out in a lakeside lean-to, officials said.
Chief Mark Bird and several members of the Raquette Lake Fire Department responded aboard the boat to reach the scene and quickly put out the fire.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze was not immediately released.
