CAROGA LAKE, N.Y. (Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025) — Firefighters in Caroga Lake quickly extinguished a house fire late Wednesday in the 3rd Avenue neighborhood, officials said.
The fire was reported at 10:42 p.m. Both Caroga Lake and Meco volunteer fire companies were dispatched, with the Fulton County Emergency Management and Fire Coordinator’s Office director — who happened to be nearby — confirming a working fire. Crews arrived to find the residence unoccupied.
Firefighters stretched a single attack line and contained the blaze to a room-and-contents fire. Caroga Lake responded with four trucks, while Meco brought four apparatus.
St. Johnsville Ambulance stood by at the scene for EMS support, along with the Fulton County EMS coordinator and New York State Police.
All units were back in service by 1 a.m. No injuries were reported.
