BROADALBIN, N.Y. (Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025) — A large bonfire prompted a fire call in Broadalbin late Saturday after it was mistaken for a possible structure fire, officials said.
The Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company was dispatched at 10:37 p.m. to the area of State Highway 29 and Jamie Lane, with reports of black smoke and visible flames. Perth Volunteer Fire Company, police and Lake Valley EMS also responded.
An incident commander later determined the source to be a bonfire on Stevers Mills Road. No injuries or hazards were reported.
