Wildland fire extinguished in Hogansburg; two firefighters treated for heat exhaustion

HOGANSBURG, N.Y. (Monday, Aug. 11, 2025) — A wildland fire near Cook Road and Drum Street Road was extinguished Monday with help from multiple agencies, officials said.
The Hogansburg/Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department reported that two firefighters were treated on scene for heat exhaustion and released.
Mutual aid came from the Fort Covington and Bombay fire departments, Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police.
All units cleared the scene after the fire was fully contained.
