BEACON, NY — August 30, 2026 — Engine 33-16 was sent to the Dutchess Junction Fire Company under automatic mutual assistance at around 11:23 p.m. in response to a report of smoke coming from a home on North River Drive's attic.

As the first-due mutual-aid unit, Engine 33-16 arrived and created a positive water supply. While teams looked into the source of the smoke, firefighters also extended a precautionary handline.

Firefighters investigated the attic and found that a broken air conditioning motor was the source of the smoke. There was no recorded fire expansion throughout the handling of the event.

On August 31, all units left the area about 12:07 a.m.
