BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025) — A shed fire in a Mill Street backyard was quickly knocked down Tuesday afternoon after multiple 911 calls prompted a full fire response, officials said.

The blaze was reported around 2:59 p.m. The officer of Engine 1 confirmed a working shed fire on arrival, and the crew stretched a hose line to begin suppression, according to the Binghamton Fire Department.

Quint 2 arrived to help Engine 1 establish a water supply and reinforce the initial attack, while Squad 21 deployed a second line from Engine 1 to assist with extinguishment.

The coordinated response brought the fire under control quickly, and firefighters checked nearby structures for possible extension.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
