Clifton forth alarm damages three homes

A four alarm Fire gutted two Clifton homes and damaged a third on the evening of August 30th. The blaze broke out around 8:30 p.m with a reported address of 13 East 2nd Street . As first due companies arrived heavy fire from a car in the driveway already extended to both homes on either side. A second alarm was quickly struck as both homes became well involved. Hand lines were stretched to go to work in both buildings along with a blitz fire gun. A third alarm was struck bringing additional companies to the scene. Heavy fire vented through the roof of number 13. Ladder 3's ladder pipe went into operation along with outside lines. A forth alarm was struck bringing additional mutual aid to the scene to work.

All visible fire was reported knocked down around 10:30 p.m. Mutual aid who assisted either at the scene or covering came from Elmwood Park, West Paterson, Rutherford , Little Falls, Paterson, Passaic , Montclair, Bloomfield and Nutley. Teaneck Box-54 for rehab also operated. One firefighter injury was treated on scene. The cause wasn't immediately determined. The fire displaced nine people.
