COLONIE, N.Y. (Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025) — Young members of the Fuller Road Volunteer Fire Department’s Explorer Post 1342 practiced search and rescue techniques Sunday in a smoke-filled training environment, officials said.
The exercise introduced explorers to the basics of operating in low-visibility conditions, preparing them with foundational skills for future firefighting roles.
Department leaders said the training is part of efforts to prepare the next generation of firefighters.
