COEYMANS HOLLOW, N.Y. (Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025) — Firefighters shut down a section of Blossom Hill Road on Saturday evening after trees and wires came down across the roadway, officials said.
The Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched around 8 p.m. to the area of Blossom Hill Road and Tompkins Road. Car 6-01 arrived to find two trees blocking the roadway just north of Tompkins Road, according to the department.
Fire personnel closed the road at both ends to protect the public and prevent vehicles from contacting debris or potential live wires.
The Coeymans Highway Department arrived shortly after and removed the trees. CHVFC remained on scene until the road was cleared and reopened.
Units responding included Car 6-01, Brush 6-40 and Fire Police officers.
