Saturday, 16 August 2025, at approximately 8:52 PM – The Colchester Fire Department, Colchester Rescue Squad, and Colchester Police Department were dispatched to Malletts Bay Avenue near Young Street for a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian incident.

While units were en route, dispatch advised that bystanders were performing resuscitation on the pedestrian. Upon arrival, emergency crews took over lifesaving measures. Despite the efforts of bystanders and first responders, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Colchester Police Department is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call 802-264-5555.
