On Monday, August 11th at 6:00 PM, firefighters participated in a focused training session on wildfire suppression techniques, including strategies for containing brush, grass, and forest fires.
Brush Truck 3 and our off-road Utility Task Vehicles (UTVs) were thoroughly inspected and prepared. These units are equipped with both water and foam capabilities—essential tools for the initial attack on a wildfire. The UTVs also serve a dual purpose, allowing crews to quickly evacuate an injured firefighter to safety and medical care if necessary.
This training couldn’t be more timely. According to the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, our region is currently at a “Very High” risk of wildfires. Thanks to this preparation, our team stands ready to respond at a moment’s notice.
We’re always seeking new firefighters to join our ranks!
